Week 1 - Modelling A Head

After having my first lecture for the module of Virtual Environments, I have created this blog as a way of storing all of my work that I do for this module. The class was introduced to our lecturer for the semester and module Jo Bowman. She will be teaching us new skills in 3ds Max whilst also guiding us through the project and tutorials that are set out for us.

We have been given the task for the first 5 weeks of the module, which is to model our own head using 3ds max. We will be using tutorials given to us by th
e lecturers. The tutorials can be found here (http://cg-india.com/tutorials/3dsmax_tutorials_organic_modeling.html).

Today we started off the project by taking pictures of our heads. We took 1 picture from the front and 1 from the side. These will become very important as they are going to be the basis for our head models and would be used to get the head shape. The key issue that we had too look for was to keep the head at the right size. The plan was to keep the camera in the same position and use the line that we drew on the whiteboard that we stood against. I then downloaded the pictures to the computer to allow me to work with them.
